In the name of Allah Most Gracious and Most Merciful 
Translation of Khutba : Masjid Otsuka: Friday, November 26 2021

All praise is due to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the entire universe. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, having no partners, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

O servants of Allah! Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an in Surah Ahzab: “
“ Indeed, we offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant.”  “[It was] so that Allah may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the men and women who associate others with Him and that Allah may accept repentance from the believing men and believing women. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”  (S.33  V.72–73)

The topic for today is about the Importance of our Responsibility towards our children. In this ayah just mentioned, Allah ﷻ says about trust that mankind has undertaken from Allah ﷻ. One of the greatest trust and responsibility we have taken from Allah ﷻ is about our hildren and their tarbiya, good upbringing, to make them love Allah ﷻ and His Dheen.

If we fail to upbring our children according to the commandment of Allah ﷻ in this world, on the day of judgement the every children we loved, cherished and cared in this world will become our enemies.

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an in Surah At-Tahrim and Surah ‘Abasa:
“O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.”   (S.66  V.6)

“On the Day a man will flee from his brother,”  “And his mother and his father,”  “And from his wife and his children.” (S.80  V.34–36)
One of the important way to implant eiman, love of Allah ﷻ and His dheen in the hearts of our children is to make them love masjid and make them to attend salat on daily basis in the masjid. Remember, masjid are houses of Allah ﷻ and these are the special places where noor the light of Allah ﷻ descends. Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah An-Nur:

“(Lit is such a Light) in houses, which Allah hath permitted to be raised to honour; for the celebration, in them, of His name: In them is He glorified in the mornings and in the evenings, (again and again)-,”  (S.24  V.36)

The light of eiman is a secret element which only can be experienced by the obedience to Allah and His messenger. No matter how much knowledge we teach our children, that knowledge will only sit in their mind and may vanish if we don’t make them to put their knowledge into practice. It is very important to raise our children with a strong attachment and love for their religion, and community, and thus it is important for them to have a strong and positive attachment to the masjid from a young age, especially in non-Muslim environments. In a Hadith the Prophet SAW said, “There are seven kind of people whom Allah will shade on a day (day of judgement) when there is no shade but His. Among the seven mentioned are a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah, one whose heart is attached to the mosjids and others.”   If we don’t make our children to love masjid, then how will our children attain these greatest attributes?

Dear Brothers and sisters, please make sure that your children attend masjid on daily basis . may Allah ﷻ guide and keep us and our children firm on His dheen. Aamin.

May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon prophet Muhammad SAW, his family and all of his Companions. May Allah be pleased with the Rightly Guided Caliphs: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali, and all those who will follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.

O Allah! Accept our prayers and all our ibada.
O Allah! Accept all of our good deeds and forgive us for our sins.
O Allah! Guide us to the right path and accept all our worships
O Allah! Accept all of us Dawah worker in Japan
O Allah! Give rizq in abundance to all Muslims in Japan
O Allah! Grant safety and security in Japan and all over the world. Aamin ya Rabbil Aalamin
