In the name of Allah Most Gracious and Most Merciful
All praises are due to Allah. We believe in Him and His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day and in Destiny its good and apparent bad. We are content with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion. I testify that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah the uniquely One, who has no partners in His one-ness. And I testify that the Prophet Muhammad is the slave of Allah and His Messenger.
O servants of Allah! Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah al-Baqarah:
“O mankind! Worship your Lord Who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous” (S.2 V.21)
And Allah informs us about Angels who make supplication for the people on Earth in the Qur’an in Surah as-Syura:
“…And the Angels exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on Earth. …” (S.42 V.5)
In other words, there are Angels who constantly call and supplicate towards goodness, and their supplication is connected to those who do such good. So, for example they ask Allah for mercy and forgiveness for those who preserve and safeguard their prayer, being those who hasten to go to the Masjids to try and be in the first rows of worshippers. The Prophet SAW said: “ Indeed, Allah and the Angels send their blessing upon those who pray in the first rows.” The companions said: “O Messenger of Allah, what about [those who pray in] the second rows?” The Prophet SAW said: “Upon the second too.” [Ahmad] The special supplication of the Angels is also for those who keen to teach people goodness, so they nourish the hearts and minds of people with what is beneficial for them in this world and the next. The Prophet SAW said: “Indeed Allah, His Angels, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earths – even the ant in his hole, even the fish – send their blessings upon the one who teaches the people to do good.” [Timidhi] Likewise, the Believer who wishes for his brother good, and who makes supplication for him both in his presence, but most important when he is not present, then such a person can hope to attain unto the supplication of the Angels, for they not only say “Ameen” to his supplications but then make the supplication of the same thing for him. The Prophet SAW said: “A Muslim’s supplication for an absent brother receives an answer. An angel is stationed at his head, and as often as he makes supplication that his brother may be given what is good the angel who is put in charge of him says, ‘Ameen and may you receive the like of this.’” [Muslim]
O servants of Allah! Indeed, the Angels make supplication for the believing Muslims, those who are devout and those who are repenting, as Allah says about these Angels in the Qur’an in Surah Ghafir:
“…[The Angels] ask forgiveness for those who have believed, [saying], ‘Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire.’” (S.40 V.7)
And whoever makes remembrance of Allah purely; then Allah deputizes an Angel to make supplication for him saying: “O Allah, forgive Your slave, such and such, for indeed he remembered You purely. “[Ibn Hibban] So whoever wants to attain the Angels supplication should make much remembrance of Allah and especially let them send their salawaat, their peace and blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad SAW who said: “There is no Muslim who sends peace and blessings upon me, except that the Angels will send peace and blessings upon him as long as he sends peace and blessings upon me. So, let the believing slave do a little of that or a lot [depending on how much they want sent back to them].” [Ibn Majah]
May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon prophet Muhammad SAW, his family and all of his Companions. May Allah be pleased with the Rightly Guided Caliphs: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali, and all those who will follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
